Did I backup the blog contents before attempting an upgrade? No, of course not.
Was I patient with the auto-upgrade tool in my Control Panel? No, not really.
Did I fully read and comprehend the instructions for a manual upgrade? Take a wild guess.
Did I then trash my whole WordPress install when the manual upgrade went Pete Tong? … erm

Actually (before I give any potential clients out there the misconception that I’m in any way incapable when it comes to this stuff), I have now retrieved all the posts from the old blog. However (as was cheerfully pointed out to me by a colleague or two), they were all pretty crap and uninteresting. So, I’ve decided instead to take this opportunity to start the CavePainter blog anew, and it will henceforth be filled only with exciting, relevant and useful information!
